Hello there

I'm a swiss "beat-maker" who wants to have some fun doing music and maybe get some listeners :)

I love Hip Hop and i guess all i want to do is to express myself with my own music. I just love sitting infront of the pc and trying to figure out a nice melody with my midi key and fl studio.

I don't like how Hip Hop changed with all the crunk and 808 ish nowadays. Back in the days, Hip Hop was all about deep lyrics and some kind of a meaning behind the tracks. And now all they do is rap about maybachs, lots of money and hoes...to me that ain't right.

I'm cool with other music taste...but it seems like ppl forgot where hip hop came from. Hip Hop comes from legends like Krs One and Marley Marl, Pete Rock, Masta Ace, RZA and the Wu clan, Premo and Gangstarr and all the other good ish.
And all these cats were innovators...they didn't stick to the same music over and over again.

I think that's why i'm not really following any mainstream trend. I'm not trying to please everyone with that same old type of beats. I'm trying to be different...to come up with something totally new. And if you like my stuff...that's great, if you dont...i'm cool with that.

NOTE: Everything you hear on this page was played and composed by myself. As long as i don't mark it as "sampled" in the song info's. I don't have any musical background or whatsoever. I never took keyboard lessons and the only thing i know is some basic knowledge about scales and chords. I really want to master the piano/keyboard and take lessons but my problem right now is the money. Anyways...i hope that you like my tunes and thanks for the support.

All i want is a chance to get heard! No more, no less.

Why this name?
just my initials
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
sure, why not...i'm always looking for collabos. So hit me up on my E-Mail: bt_kolo@hotmail.com if you're down for something.
Your influences?
Oh...there's a lot of inspiration for my work. I love sampled beats...i think sampling is still the heart of hip hop. I love producers like premo, 9th wonder or rza but i'm also into some newer cats like Kno from cunninlynguists or Stoupe from JMT.
I would give everything to be able to do the music they're doing...but i guess i'm more into the "self composed" way of doing beats right now. I've started with some basic sampled beats but i've always had all these ideas for beats in my head...but to do all this, i need to play everything by myself. So i'm pretty happy how everything turned out now i guess.

As for Hip Hop, i listen to a lot of Rappers/Hip Hop Groups like:

cunninlynguists, Immortal tech, Krs-One, AOTP, NWA, living legends, bone thugs n harmony, masta ace, jay z, kanye, atmosphere, Ice Cube, Non phixion, ill bill, etc. etc.

But life would be pretty boring with just one music genre...i used to listen to a lot (and i mean a lot) of Rock, House/Electro and Trance. Yea...trance ;)

The Killers, 10 Years, Hoobastank, 3 Doors Down, Nonpoint, Iron Maiden, Thrice, Avenged Sevenfold to Daft Punk, Justice, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Tiesto and Michael Woods...i've heard it all ;)

If you ask me...the Key to inspiration and unique compositions is listening to more than just hip hop. The worst thing you can do, is stick to just one music genre. Music has so much more to offer than just Hip Hop.

You have to decide for yourself, if you want to stick with the rest...or if you want to stand out. I don't have the right, to tell you what you should do or not. I'm just saying...you will have potential buyers if you stick to the mainstream trend, no doubt about that. But at the end of the day...ask yourself if you want to be that guy, who makes the same music like thousands of other dudes with no recognition value at all...or if you want to get praised for your uniqueness and for being true to yourself for doing the music YOU like!

Now i'm not a master of composition or whatsoever...and i'm not saying i'm doing unique music. I can pull off some basic melodies and put them together. That's all.

What i do know is that soundclick is full of ppl who are doing the same music over and over again...using the same sounds, the same types and whatever just to please the majority of ppl cuz that particular music type is mainstream trend right now.

I'm cool with all this...i'm cool with everything i've said. I'm just saying.

TRY TO BE DIFFERENT SOUNDCLICK PPL. Try to make something "unpredictable"..something that noone would expect from you...something special. Don't try to imitate a style...create your own style.

Hip Hop is about innovation...not about doing the same thing over and over again.

thank you for your time.
Anything else...?
thanks for listening...enjoy.
