Cognitive Response started out in November 2006 as a side project of a progressive metal band called Visionarium. It's name back then was "Iumentum". It was basically in the same style of Visionarium, but much more heavy and dissonant. Over time, the project went in a different direction and became more experimental and eclectic, eventually switching from metal to a more rock/fusion/classical/electronic hybrid. This was when the name was changed from Iumentum to Cognitive Response to describe the new approach. Currently a demo entitled "Thought Experiments" is in the works, which should be completed by late 2009.
