play lo-fi play hi-fi  NNW-2212
Solo artist experimenting in drone music and noise, using samples that have been altered to create musical pieces.
Why this name?
I was looking for a name that had two words when put together, wasn't grammatically correct but sounded interesting.
Do you play live?
No. I have done but in a totally different capacity.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it means that artists like myself can get their music heard and cultivate some kind of following, but I also think that people don't invest so much time into 'getting in to' a particular artist as they haven't invested their hard earned cash in a physical product. Also, it gives rise to a LOT of awful music clogging up the web, some would say that includes what I do!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I could get what I do to a larger audience then sure. Would I buddy up with the likes of Simon Cowell to get exposure and more money? No!
Band History:
Started off as a percussionist in a marching band, met Rik, who ever since, I have messed around with musically speaking. the Ghostchild project came about when I was getting to grips with some new software and i started off remixing some of my favourite songs. I then took various samples from different songs and created new tracks. The samples I now use are mostly field recordings and other interesting sounds, all of which are public domain and therefore uncopyrighted!
Your influences?
Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion, Talk Talk, Aphex Twin, Radiohead.
Favorite spot?
Reykjavic - Iceland. A lot of my music would sound great floating around the Blue Lagoon with a few Reyka vodkas or 10...
Equipment used:
Whatever comes to hand.
Anything else...?
