One Time

Building off of the infectious grooves delivered by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, and Sublime while combining with vocals under the tutelage of G.Love, Bradley Nowell (Sublime) and Method Man, One Time transcend their predecessor's works to a new dimension of alternative hybrid hip hop, touching on many other styles of music as well.

Why this name?
Don't Ask, we have about 10 different stories depending on who you asked. In fact I think the new bass player Mark came up with the name
Do you play live?
We have played live anywhere from 1 day to 26 days in a month to 3 1/2 people to 3,5000 people. We gig out mostly in NYC, Queens, Long Island, Brooklyn and NY State but have travelled out of state on a few occasions. We are looking to change all that with a spring college tour in the works.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is still so early to tell what the long term effects on the industry will be because of MP3s etc. Your best bet as a band is to find ways to get your music to peoples ear so in that sense it is great. But this isnt the first time music has changed medium, I am sure there was pushback when video killed the radio star.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If a major or any label for that matter would help to make our careers lasting and we could all do what we love in making music on a daily basis, I don't think we would shake a stick at that. With that said we don't feel that we neccasarily need a label to be successful. Thus our reason for a push to tour in the spring and hopefully build a following.
Band History:
One time has been captivating audiences throughout NY for the past three years and has established themselves as "one of the top five live bands to see in New York," says Stuart Bronze, club promoter for Joe's Pub and Lot 61. A former mainstay at Manhattan's Wetlands and the Elbow Room, One Time has progressed to performing before packed audiences at CBGB's in 2003.

In late 2002, The band signed on with Mike Ciro of Cirocutis Productions, to produce their current recordings.

Lead singer Craig Coakley's intimate tales of woe and inspirational messages for those teetering on their own sanity, can be best heard on original tracks entitled "Taking it Back," "Dear Emily" and "Last Will and Testament." The band also touches on the less serious side of things, with crowd pleasers, "Blaugh" and "Ten Cents short of a Bagel," demonstrating their every day life in Queens.

With a taste of the high life, having opened for Multi-Platinum artists Three Doors Down and Lil' Kim, One Time is set for a return to the big stage!
