Songwriter / producer writing original tracks and remixing featuring guest vocalists. In the Summer of 2008 I designed and built a single room recording / mixing studio; a very proud moment when we went 'live'.
Why this name?
Just a play on my initials (MG) and the vs doesn't take much working out !!!
Do you play live?
No. All works concentrated in my studio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Makes music a lot more accessible and anyone can upload a song!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definitely. Music is not just a hobby; it's a passion, a must have, an obsession. I hate silence. Chasing the dream.
Band History:
I have been recording my own songs now, using Cubase Studio 4, for nearly 12 months; I collaboarate with singers from all over the world. Remixing others tracks using just an acapella is fast becoming a good progression.
Your influences?
Depeche, Yazoo, Erasure, Human League, Vince Clarke, Martin Gore ......too many others to mention. Ideas for songs are all personal from something that happens, or you see or read about.
Favorite spot?
Inside my studio; my pride and joy!
Equipment used:
Cubase Studio 4 on PC. Synths include Predator, Z3ta, Genesis, Zebra, V Station, Vanguard, Korg Legacy Collection, Imposcar, Pro 53, FM7, Supersaw, NX2, Tarkus, Trance Pro, Performer, Professional, JV1080 and a range of other vsts. All drums / percussion are individual wav hits chained to form grooves. Monitoring is on a pair of Mackie HR624's and soundcard is an Emu 1212M.
Anything else...?
Anyone who likes what you hear, drop me a line - collaborations always welcome, especially from female vocalists / lyricists. I have countless songs on the go and most require a female voice; don't be shy!!!
