Left Hand Path is a Acid Hip Hop group. We are three individuals who have been making hip hop for years. Bo HeMyth aka James Venamun and Morbid LaVey aka Barnabas Collins are the emcees and Stezo aka Terminal Illness is the DJ. The music scene here in Detroit has spit on us for far too long. It has transformed us from a group of fun lovin' hip hoppers, to a much more dark and evil image of our former selves. Do you dare walk the path?
Why this name?
We have always been into some of the darker aspects of life, but when we decided to transform as artists, a fellow horrorcore rapper said to us, "Ahh, so you have decided to walk the Left Hand Path." And since this was in fact the case, we decided that this was the perfect name.
Do you play live?
We have performed many shows in the past together, but none yet as Left Hand Path, although the world will see us soon enough.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is obvious how file sharing can hurt the mainstream musician. But as far as underground artists and up-and-coming acts, its an extremely vital tool in getting your music heard by the masses.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We would definately sign the right deal with the right major label. Under the most comfortable circumstances, a major label is definately an option.
Band History:
All three members of Left Hand Path have worked together in the past. Along with a fourth member who is no longer around, we were called the Krop Dustahz. Stezo was named the Metro Times Detroit Hip Hop DJ of the Year at the 2003 Metro Times Awards. Morbid and Bo HeMyth have both been rhyming for years and have worked with the like of Eminem, D12, Esham, Twiztid, and Anybody Killa. This may be a new group, but don't get it twisted, these are some veterans.
Your influences?
Some of our biggest musical influences include our fellow Acid Rappers from Detroit such as Esham, ICP, Twiztid, and ABK. Outside of Detroit artists, some of our influences include Necro, Nonphixion, Cage, R.A. the Rugged Man, and even old school emcees like Rakim, Ice-T, KRS-One, and Big Daddy Kane.
Favorite spot?
Towards the bottom of the thumb on the Bloody Mitten, the Murda Capital, Detroit, MI.
