Someone suggested I put some of my demos on the internet to get some feedback...what a concept! I give much thanks to sites like SoundClick for making that possible. Since I have no formal musical training or recording experience, I primarily do this as a hobby for my own enjoyment, but if other's can enjoy it too, it is an added bonus.

My heartfelt thanks goes to Mr. Stephen Kay, the inventor of KARMA. Simply the greatest inspirational music making tool on the planet! Don't miss seeing him perform KARMA magic at karma-lab.com! Great big thanks to E-mu, Korg, Kurzweil and Roland for making such fantastic synthesizers, and last but not least, I would also like to kindly acknowledge Mr. Eric James Sawyer (Jim, also known to us as EJ2), the sound designer of the combi's that were used on many of these tunes, as well as fellow Texan Jim Stout (www.jimstout.tv) for his videos at NAMM and on youtube that show us how to make better use of the amazing V-Synth.

Most honorable mentions go to Ryan Bliss of digitalblasphemy.com for his beautiful and inspiring graphic imagery; to brainpaint.com for the ultra-cool background that comes from EEG biofeedback...it's from a brain! How cool is that? Also, thanks to kitwatkins.com, not only for great music and cool visuals, but for making his older music available for free download. Thanks Kit! "Azure" still continues to inspire me after all these years!

I have to also mention the fantastic group of fellow musicians and enthusiasts over at the Karma Labs, Roland Clan, and Korg Forums. Just simply an amazingly helpful and friendly bunch of folks. Kudos to Stephen Kay, Artemiy Pavlov and Daz, Sharp and Chordial respectively for running such inviting, informative, helpful and fun forums. Special thanks to Moreno Caponi for providing such great art designs on a moments notice for many of the songs...thanks Mo!
Why this name?
I enjoy the "sound worlds" of Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Sean Washburn and other ambient instrumental artists. Plus, I dig worldbeat and ethnic sounds, so Soundworld A.D. was a natural evolutionary name, not only for my studio, but for me as well. The A.D. stands for Amielyn (my fiance) and Douglas. It also serves to remind me of the great sacrifice that was done on my behalf by my Creator.
Do you play live?
I used to play Beatles tunes on my acoustic guitar at lake parties in my younger years!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Absolutely it has changed things. Now, artists and musicians can put their sounds out there for feedback and other's enjoyment without having to grovel in some music executives office!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. I like my freedom to do what I want when I want without any pressure or expectations.
Band History:
I have been doing this as a hobby since about 1992, but went through a long 6 or 7 year dry spell. The Korg OASYS and KARMA and the Roland V-Synth re-sparked my love for making music and made it fun again. The majority of the songs that I've posted on SoundClick have been done just since March of 2009.
Your influences?
All Classic Rock. Motown, R&B (mostly 60's & 70's), Progressive Rock, Jazz, New Age, Ambient, Ambient Dub, Worldbeat, Ethnic.
Favorite spot?
Lake Como, Italy.
Equipment used:
Synthesizers, drums, guitars.
Anything else...?
Someday, I will actually learn to play keyboards properly and learn to read and write music! Then, I will be dangerous...lol!

Thanks to my family and friends for giving me their support all of these years. You're the best!

And last but certainly not least, I thank God for reminding me that I was losing my joy in life by chasing after things that just weren't that important. Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord for giving me back my joy!
(Romans 8:38-39)

Peace!
