We called ourselves the 22X livin in the suburban area of Calgary SE.
The group is made up of myself as Mike Los, Don P and Pace
Our legally signed label is DonPerDon records.
Why this name?
22X was named after our hood in the intersection of the 22x highway.
Do you play live?
Never gotten to play live so far, but hoping on it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a great opportunity for alot of artists to get their names out and get recognised by alot of people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definately. As long as i wasn't treated like a bi*** puppet and controlled by them.
Band History:
Me as an emcee "Mike Los", i never had any recording equipment, i have been working on songs but had no way of getting my name out there.
I met a guy named Don P who happens to be my producer now, he told me he was a rapper/emcee and i heard that he had his own label which is DonPerDon records. I told him that i was looking for someone i could record with and get my name out, and he told me he was for real and he didnt talk shit. I got his number, called him up, and there it all started, i hooked up with him at his studio and layed out some tracks n shit. I had a homie named Pace who was beggining to get into the rap game and becoming an emcee aswell. We layed out some tracks and we decided to call ourselves the 22x.
Your influences?
Immortal technique, Bone thugs n Harmony, Necro, Mr hyde, Jedi mind tricks, Eminem, Myself, Don P.
Favorite spot?
My favourite spot where i grew up in my teen years was Ranchlands. so i would have to say it's my favourite spot in Calgary
