A singer-songwriter with a method of wicked writing skills on acid, perhaps.
Why this name?
Well, my mother's maiden name is Harman. My last name belongs to my biological father, in which I haven't seen since '94. Besides, Ammie Harman is pretty sweet.. right?
Do you play live?
I have been in choirs & ensembles since I was 4 years old. I love being on stage; the feeling of performing live is amazing. I'm definitely not a shy person, I love it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe it changes it drastically. People are discovering so much more music, and can access what their own style is much more accurately. Besides, independent artists can shine, too. There's a lot of good music out there not listed under a record label. Even so, we don't have to sit by the radio anymore or watch MTV all day long to discover a new sound we're looking for. I think it's a great way to expose people to an entertainment we can all enjoy.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Definitely; I believe that a major company could give you the lead advertising you may want... But, in this day and age, I think that if you have the ability to learn how to advertise yourself... it's worth it.
Band History:
Ammie Harman, born as Ammie-Marie Roxanne Littke, was born on October 20, 1990 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Donna Harman and Timothy Littke. Growing up as a child, Ammie would sing and dance around the house, and became a member of choir in kindergarten; she was a member until she graduated high school in 2008. In 2003, she was a member of an elite vocal group in St. Joseph, Michigan called the Uptones. Ammie mailed a few of her lyrics to companies to become exposed and get opinions; by the middle of her 8th grade year, she received a recording contract from New World Publishing. At the time, she was residing with her adoptive grandmother who thought she was too young to follow through. This only drove Ammie to strive for success, and seek for nothing but the very best.
During the summer of 2005, Ammie moved to Youngstown, Ohio with her biological mother, Donna Harman, in search of something more. She became involved in choir, vocal ensemble, and numerous clubs/organizations. During her senior year of high school, 17 year old Ammie became the first Student Board Representative for East High School in Youngstown, Ohio. By February 19, 2008, she reached a national level when she spoke at the Solutions for America Rally in Youngstown, Ohio at Chaney High School for Hillary Rodham Clinton, becoming the only minor in the history of the United States to speak at a presidential rally.
During her graduation year, she pursued a goal of change and excelled in her studies as well as her presence in the district; she is also one of the first graduates of Youngstown's East High School. She graduated with honors in the National Technical Honors Society, from East High School in June of 2008 with many accomplishments and awards as a student in Youngstown. She was a member, contributor, president, editor, or designer in over 8 different clubs, vocal groups, and organizations; she is currently studying Graphic Design in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. "Graphic Design is the fall-back plan, in case it just doesn't work out; but, music is my passion. That's where I feel I belong. Better yet, I believe it is my destiny... I can feel it." - Ammie Harman

Well, when I went to Atlanta, Georgia during June, 2008 for the National F.B.L.A. Conference, it was a pretty decent place to be. But for now, Pittsburgh is where it's happening for me.
Equipment used:
My laptop! And.. this rinky-dink mini keyboard I have. Oh, well; I'm not packing in the high-equipment or anything like that... but, hey.. we have to start somewhere, right?
Anything else...?
I'm pretty normal, I guess. A lot of my friends seem to connect to my lyrics & poetry. I have enough in storage to reach out to anyone, that's for sure.
