Hi people. I'm not a band, it's just me, so remember it's only one guy doing this. The first instrument I had was a plastic toy clothes iron I found in my back yard when I was about kneecap high. I guess the neighbor girl next door didn't want it. It was blue. For some reason I really liked, no, I cherished it even. It made a cool sound when I hit it. Sort of a muffled thump. I got my first sense of rythmics from it. I began listening to everything and striking objects just to hear it's sound. This was unsatisfactory answer with my parents, and soon I found myself back in my room with my beloved toy iron. Christmas brought harmony into my life. My uncle would play the piano and I would sit on his lap and play the keys. My uncle recognized my talent when he played ragtime tunes and told my parents. That year they all chipped in and got me a real toy piano. Everyone expected me to just jump on the thing, but I was so shocked with joy, all I could do was point at it and cry, pluck a note and cry all over again. Before you knew it I was playing ragtime tunes, which I still hold dear to me.
Why this name?
I just picked it because I figured nobody else ever would. Morphing is the active change I like to change things. Sometimes it's sweet and many times it's not. I will always try to spare you, the listener, those times when it's not.
Do you play live?
I don't play live if my room doesn't count as a place. The most special moment I've had was a talent show in H.S. when a group of us did the song "Take a Pebble" By Emerson Lake and Palmer. Although the song is quite a challenge for a pianist, I knew it very well, yet I still drilled it for months before the show. That night the 3 of us totally aced the tune. It was literally perfect. People stood nearly 5 minutes applauding.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3's to me is a good method of trimming the fat off of the steak. The music industry is way too piggish. All it is, is a publishing company. They should not be making any more than a book publisher, but they sure are (a bunch of big wheel fat pigs off of someone elses talent).
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if the terms were reasonable, but they never are. Have you ever looked at a recording contract? What a joke. It's all so rigged up too. I could probably get by without being owned, then chewed up and eventually spit out. They own you. I just can't allow that to happen to me.
Your influences?
My styles are extremely mixed. Expect anything.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spots on earth would be a tiny piece of marshland in the great south bay of Long Island Known as Squaw Island, and also the village where I live, in Laguna Beach, California
Only the finest of women are here and it certainly shows, they're usually pretty cool
