play lo-fi play hi-fi  Mr. Nasty
I was born in VEro Beach FL september 15th 1985. I was born into two different families. My Mom's side was the side that loved the music, my Dad's side, the business, I just met somewhere in the middle. But as long as I can remember the dream was to make music for a living. I started singing at the age of 3, and rapping at the age of 12. But when I first became serious about my music, I didn't really have the resources or the help to get started. I had the vision and that was abou it, not to mention I had been writing for while so lyrics were never an issue. I remember in ninth grade my uncle gave me a my first keyboard. At the time HE was starting his own record label, and he kept telling that he wanted to put me on, I just had to wait a while (he never did). But while I was waiting on him, I starting making beats with just my casio and two cassette tapes. In other words I would have to sit there and make a drum pattern for 3-5 minutes, then play that tape and play the melody for another 3-5 minutes, and u get the idea.
When I went to college, a friend showed me how to use a MOTIF 6, and from there I started to develop my own style. Of course, starting out, \ I sucked. My music wasn't catchy, my songwriting was on point, but my singing needed MUCH work; I could sing, it just wasn't disciplined... to this day I still have no REAL vocal training, but I'm a lot better than I was back then... I'm still working to get it right.
I came home in 2006 and ran into a childhood friend who introduced me to fruilty loops. He made a copy of the demo for me, and I started making beats from my house. Overtime I got a recording program and started recording myself, singing and rapping my own songs. Last year I finished an album that I will actually try to release by the end of this year, or by the beginning of next year. BUt the one major lesson that I carry with me is if you let GOD work in your life u will be blessed beyond all u could ever ask or think, all u have to do is move when he tells u too. Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and he will direct your path.
Why this name?
I actually have two stage names. 'Tony I' is my actual government name with the rest of my last name cut off.
MY other name is NAICHON FREEMAN. lemme explain
When u the letters in NAICHON and change them up u get "NO CHAIN". and my things is don't where a chain. I feel like my ancestors fought for me not to have to put one around my neck, so I don't wear them. It is also to say that I'm "Off tha Chain" and that nothing or no one can hold me back. And the FREEMAN part ties into it and is really self explainitory. I'm a FREE MAN! and which would then come together to say "NO Chain on a Free Man"
Do you play live?
I haven't had any shows yet, that's in the near future though. I have did a little singing with Jamal Jones and the Vibe, but that's about it... it wasn't even my song, it was one of Musiq's songs and Joe's.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't know... if the price is right then yes.
