Born in Wapakoneta, a small town in northwest Ohio, it has been said that he began humming one day from the playpen as his mother sang. By the age of four, JonWesley was singing with his family at various churches, as well as local and state denominational events. He was taught piano as a child, which has shaped his songwriting and arranging to this day.
JonWesley is presently serving as the Associate Pastor/Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Key Largo in Florida. As a lead worshiper, JonWesley loves to see people come alive from their spirit. As a choir director, "I just get to worship while they do all the work!", he smiles.
JonWesley is passionate about worship; whether Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday prayer meeting, or in personal prayer time, JonWesley's mission is to show others that there is so much more than "dangling you feet in the kiddie pool. There is a whole ocean out there called The Love of God, just waiting to be explored!"
One of JonWesley's great joys is to enable the worship of others. You can hear some incredibly talented writers and performers on "Song Of Praise Radio. Whether at work or home, these songs will take you to a new place with God.
