play lo-fi play hi-fi  Terasu (Kokoro No Ageru)
I've been a DJ since my last band broke up, I decided that it was easier to work on my own than with a large group (My last band was a 10-piece Ska group)

That would make it about 7 years, working parties, clubs, and bars.

I spin mostly house/trance, 80's new wave, and old school hip hop, but I've done many other styles as well. I've recently gotten into doing mash-ups and love it.

My live mixes can be heard here - DJ Hentai on waxdj.com
Why this name?
Well, I found it amusing, being that "Hentai" is basically the Japanese word for "Pervert", and it sounds so much more interesting than DJ Pervert. lol
Do you play live?
Yes, any chance I get. Lately I've been doing a series of live shows in Hot Topic stores around Central New Mexico, and they're a lot of fun. I used to have a residency at a bar in Albuquerque, but due to disagreements with the owner, I no longer spin there. I spin house parties all the time, and special events for a lot of automotive events.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it gives more musicians a chance to be heard everywhere - The record industry used to pretty well control who heard what music and where - but now with the internet, a garage band in say, Corona CA can be the biggest band in Europe after someone finds them online. I think that's awesome.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe, if one was interested. I do enjoy the freedom of being independent, but I don't think I'd mind the help of a big label when it came to touring, promoting, etc.
