Hi! Well I was born no. 7 out of 9 kids. 7 boys and 2 girls. My sisters are younger than me. Well it all started with my oldest brother Troy. He bought a cheap guitar from an old catalog back in the 60's called National Bellas Hess. He tried playing but gave it up pretty quick. My second oldest brother, Mark picked it up and it didnt take long. He had the talent. He got good quick. He also started playing bass guitar and became a member of a band here in Pampa called Coy Worley and The Travelers. Well Mark showed me a little bit of stuff on the guitar when I was only 4. They say I picked the guitar with my thumb back then flat on the floor. Mark's music career ended before he had time to get it going good when he died of cancer at the age of 22 in march 1966. Well I was 8 years old then and Mark left all his stuff to me. He had a Gibson bass, and a Gretsch guitar. I began to listen to his tapes on reel to reel and began to learn chords.I was in the band in school so I began to read music. I wrote a few songs back then but not many. I joined a band in 1985 called Steel Water Bridge. I played lead guitar and sang backup. I got married after that and settled down a little bit. I have 3 great kids of my own now but im also divorced after 2 marriages. I am now writing more than ever. i entered the next gac star contest this summer and i stayed at the top of the charts the whole time although i didn't make the finalists. I have written approx 50 songs so far!
