GretchenBand
NEWS   Gretchen is planning on playing at the D-Y talent show. We will not be able to be part of the actual competition (on account of Nicki not going to D-Y) but we will be playing while they tally up the votes for the acts. That is- we will be playing if Joolie gets up the nerve.

You never figure out why you should smile more until the first few notes of "Stairway to Heaven" start up, and you are alone holding only your dancing shoes in your hand.
Why this name?
There really is no reason....we were going to be called "Hemlock" but apparently that's taken by a rather big and rather fun looking death-metal band.
Do you play live?
We live on Cape Cod no one lives here. There was this one time we were sitting outside the general store playing while waiting for a ride, and this guy comes out and he goes "Can you play that thing?" and points to the guitar Joolie is playing. She says yes. Then he says "Girls can't play guitar!" Then Joolie attacked him and cracked his skull open with her guild.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
How about this weather we've been having?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
How major is major?
Band History:
Joolie decided to play guitar in early June [03]. She taught Nicki the little she knew. Nicki, then learned more, and taught Joolie....and the process has continued. This summer Joolie, Nicki, and Rebecca [bestest friends] have been roaming Cape Cod with an acoustic. Now, with a little more structure they form "Gretchen" with Joolie on guitar, Nicki on keyboard and Becky to offer her pretty poetry to put to music [see lyrics "Stop looking at the sky"] whenever it is necessary.
Your influences?
Azure Ray, Brighteyes, Belle & Sebastian, Ozma, Pedro the Lion, The Anniversary, Superdrag, Weezer, Iron and Wine, Death Cab for Cutie, Self, Bread
Favorite spot?
Nicki's shady backyard in July, where the softest grass grows in all the world.
Anything else...?
Hell is for children!
