HORD
Why this name?
HORD is a mixed form between HORDE and HARD because we are both a tribe, a family, a teeming crowd and because our music is very hard, brutal, loud and heavy.
This name is short, punchy, powerful and sounds great to our ears.
Do you play live?
Playing live is a great experience. How can we describe it? This is this special moment where bands and people meet each other and merge. That's where we can fully express ourselves and deliver our energy.

We played with a lot of bands and we have tonnes of souvenirs ... it's very hard to put words on it ... We opened for Fear Factory, Misery Index, Punish Yourself, Black Bomb A, etc. It's just ... Wouahwouh!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We can't deny it. Internet changes the music industry and the connection between bands and people on earth. With SoundClick, myspace, facebook, etc., bands can be more visible and everywhere on earth!
With "Reborn From Chaos", our first album, we didn't have an international distribution with our distributor Nocturne, but we were everywhere with Internet so we have fans in USA, Jordan, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, etc. Awesome!
Now, bands must use Internet possibilities, there is no other choice but it doesn't mean that it's more simple ... oh no, it's still very hard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah, really ... this offer is not to be sneezed at ... Internet is not the only solution. Maybe when you already have a name or a lot of money like Radiohead, Madonna, Nine inch Nails or Prince. Young bands need record company to grow up. There are a lot of good and bad points with a major label but don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Band History:
HORD is a metal band founded in 2002 on the ashes of Lymloss and Homecreep in the south of France, near Nîmes and Montpellier. After the recording of several demos, the band is spotted in 2006 by Patrick Liotard, guitarist and producer of Metal/Indus band POLARBITCH, who decides to produce and record the first album of HORD: Reborn from Chaos (Why Note/Nocturne, 2007).

After some changes in the line-up and two years on the road defending Reborn from Chaos on stage with Fear Factory, Punish Yourself, Black Bomb A, etc., HORD just finish to record a new album called "THE WASTE LAND", a musical, visual and litterary concept album inspired by the poetic universe of T.S. Eliot and the novels of Cormac McCarthy, recorded at the Split Second Sound Studio (Amsterdam) with Jochem Jacobs, guitarist and producer of the dutch band TEXTURES (Nuclear Blast Records).

The first track from the brand new album "Unreal City" is now available on SOUNDCLICK!
