RE:Active is an electronic music duo that began in late 2005. The music of RE:Active is best described as electronica or synthpop though we also experiment with other styles like industrial, trance, and darkwave. RE:Active is also involved in remixing and production. RE:Active is currently working on their first studio album, "FuturePerfect", which is due out in 2010. A limited edition preview EP, "Future", will be released in 2009.

Why this name?
The name "RE:Active" was suggested by Edgar in late Dec. 2005. We had been contemplating a name change for several months as the name we had since the mid-80's when we were in high school, didn't really represent us and our growth as musicians since then. We wanted something that related to the high energy style of music that we do and connected to us personally. The "RE" in RE:Active stands for Ron & Edgar.
Do you play live?
RE:Active is a studio band, but playing live has not been ruled out. We would like to participate in an electronic music festival someday.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and the electronic music community that thrives because of it is what's made it possible for us to get our music out. MP3's are a great promotional tool for bands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Doubt it. We do music for fun, when we're not working, and we like having 100% control of it. We would like to sign with an independent label like ADD or Section 44 though.
Band History:
Edgar Head and Ron Hubbard formed RE:Active in late Dec. 2005. The duo had been previously known as "Blast!" since their high school years in the mid-80's and completed a number of self-produced albums since that time.
RE:Active was created by a desire to move from doing music strictly as a "shared hobby" to becoming part of the independent electronic music community that thrives around the world thanks in large part to the internet.
In 2006 we submitted a new track, "Future's End (Edit)", to Section 44 Records for inclusion on the "Sector One, Vol. Two" release, but that CD has yet to be officially released.
In 2008 we did a remix of "Shards of Scarlet" for Rhythmic Symphony which is featured on "Silver Echo Records, Vol. 2". An extended version of this remix will also be released later this year. Ron wrote and sang on a track called "Free" which is on the album "Take Cover" by Brand New Day. Edgar produced the track and assisted in production on another track on that album ("Caught in a Lie").
2009 will see the release of a limited edition "preview" EP called "Future". This EP features 6 of the 12 tracks from "FuturePerfect". One track is a remix that will be unique to the EP.
