From an early age you could tell there was something different about Gideon Eli D-Tettey, a.k.a IsCream.

IsCream ( a nickname he will acquire in his boarding school days at Winneba Secondary School), always had the edge to perform on stage to entertain people. As a kid IsCream will enter and win mostly all the dance competition at friends parties.
Throughout his academic studies, IsCream would always get involve in organising talent shows for his fellow school mates and friends. This led to him being elected to act as Entertainment Prefect for his school, Winneba Secondary School in 1998

Prior to that , in 1997, IsCream teamed up with Natty Borax (a.k.a Mr Borax of ‘Asee Ho’ fame) and Mosquito to form the clique ‘Native Lords’. In that same year, ‘Native Lords’ entered into a rap competition at the National Theatre in Accra, which they won. From then on the group will have several appearances on shows like FunWorld and Kiddafest alongside now big stars such as Mensa, Buk Bak, VIP, The Late Terry Bon Chaka (RIP), Samini, etc.

Due to artistic differences, and different agendas, with regards to completing high school and university, the group had to split up with the imminent release of Mr. Borax’s debut album ‘Asee Ho’, on which IsCream wrote 2 songs, ‘Mama Pa’ and ‘I believe I can fly’, both songs will later become a cult hit after the 2001 release.

Even though it is evident that IsCream always had the talent to have released an album a few years back, It was always his plan to obtain academic qualifications first and foremost. Now with a Bachelors degree in Information Studies and Sociology, from the University of Ghana and after studying how the music industry operates in Ghana , IsCream currently works as Events Executive at Ghana’s foremost media company, Charter House.

In January 2009, Basty Cryme formed the record label CRYME RECORDS in Manchester, England to help his cousin and best friend IsCream release is debut album ‘Universal Flava’. CEO of CRYME RECORDS Basty Cryme saw the potential and vast experiences IsCream had and without any hesitation, appointed IsCream as President of CRYME RECORDS.

Within 4 months of its formation, CRYME RECORDS now boasts of talented music artists such as Kevin Beats, Greefield

IsCream is currently working on finishing his debut Album ‘Universal Flava’ which is on schedule for a 2009 release. Having been influenced by legendary musicians like Bob Marley, OutKast, Wyclef, Immortal Technique, Reggie Rockstone, IsCream intends to release an album which has ‘something for everyone’.

With various collaborations with artist such as Tinny, Gyino , Five5, Ex-Doe, Quatah, Tinny, Iwan, Sweet Hani, Kevin Beats and many more, ‘Universal Flava’ is sure to cause a stir in Ghana. IsCream released his first promotion song ‘Ayoo’ which is a catchy ewe rap which is currently receiving favourable radio and tv air play all over Ghana and on the internet. Producers on the album include Jayso,Apietus, Old-KOf, Nana King, Bullet, just to name a few.

Every year there is always one artist who stands out from the rest be it musical skills, image or personality…IsCream has all these qualities and it promises to be a great year for IsCream and CRYME RECORDS.
