Killakungpow, a one man band that specializes in the production of instrumentals specifically of hip-hop and rap genre
Why this name?
Basically the band name originated from two areas, killa from the inspiration of Camron "Dipset Diplomats" and the other kungpow from the film "kungpow enter the fist". Since both names began with Ks and my name begins with a K, I thought "what the hell let me just use the name Killakungpow"
Do you play live?
I have never played live because Im novice in this music industry. My every moments always come from the part where I can produce instrumentals.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, I can be that MP3 have played a major role in the industry because back in the days, musics were bieng listened to in the form either classical tapes, vinyl or digital CDs. However these media had its owm set back in terms of durability, storage capacity and portability. Mp3 have revolutionized the way these problems can be solved.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If there is that oppotunity I would gladly embrase the chance.
Your influences?
Im a number one of Hip-hop, Rap and R&B. Much of my respects goes to Dr Dre, Timbaland, Kanye West, Scott Storch because most people just listen to the song or the wordings of the song; I pay detail attention to the instrumental thats these guys work on and I find it fascinating in how they are able to produce unique sounds.
I started the music production through the influence of an artist and child hood friend Yusuf (Fluxx) because he have me the tools and knowledge of music production. Kenechi (K-Track) introduce me to basics of music production and Eji (Lionidas) thought me some aspects of audio quality.
