I am a songwriter. The only singing I do is an occasional comedy and of course scratch vocals for talented vocalists.

Why this name?
Jon Hanson, songwriter? Fairly self explanatory. Find me at JonHanson.com or gooddebt.com
Do you play live?
With Dal Crockett I sang live at a political event last year, about 2,000 people, Dale provided entertainment and I sang my Irish song, Gasoline Blues, and the John Kasich song I wrote for our next governor (I sang V-2, dale did the rest) . And as I say if I do it will be rare and meant to be comedy. Bail Out Blues is one I sang and posted, but it is both sarcastic and comedy.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's making it better and worse all at the same time. It is harder to collect pay for your work but it is cheaper and better (for me) to buy the one song I want to hear for .99 versus buying the whole album like in the past.

Lot of issues but over all positive and allows me to collaborate easier across the country.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Perhaps with a publishing company as a songwriter.
