Having been influenced by the best of Electronic music (Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis) and the myths of ancient cultures Absurd Smoque is often thought of as "Candy for the Ears", or just "Ear Candy". From the soothing sounds in “Shores of Kiloran” and “Simplicity” to their soaring instrumental orchestral composition in “Spirit Lake”, Absurd Smoque transcends all classifications in the music world. The album “Origins” introduces you to the unique sounds of Absurd Smoque and is excellent music to meditate to. The just released album “The Lost Tracks” offers the most unique and diverse music Absurd Smoque offers. Some of the most noteworthy tracks include “Enter the Void”, “The Magic Number”, “Solstice” and “Vamanos”.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet changes everything about the music industry. By flattening the distribution model so every band has equal access to their fans, a band or musician is no longer bound to any rules by any company. However, with this new freedom, the band/musician must now market themselves to discover their fans and cannot rely on marketing professionals to take care of their promotion.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
