Sunset Urban Records Hip Hop Artist Blackwell is a mix of R&B and Hip Hop and dealing with relationship and social issues. It's a mix of true life events with old and new school mix.
Why this name?
It's my government name easy to cash my checks with.
Do you play live?
Love live shows the best show I had was opening for RUN-DMC before they broke up they taught me alot about the business how the game is the same just different players.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Internet makes the music industry easy to tap into alot more range of style and better chance for artists to get known and get out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I like the indie label I am with and give me alot more freedom than a major label would.
Band History:
Hip Hop Artist Blackwell uses real experiences in his lyrics with a mix of R&B and Hip Hop. "A melodic blend of colorful music production, excellent harmonies coupled with a gritty vocal expressing his unwavering and accessible stories about life", says Don Lichterman
(CEO of Sunset Urban Records Inc.).

Born and raised in Ohio, his influences range from his Great Uncle Otis Blackwell (who wrote for Elvis Presley) to Old School Pioneers: Biz Markie, Will Smith, and Heavy D. He’s describes his music as, “Music to wake up your eardrum”.

Blackwell has opened for National Acts: LL Cool J, Kayne West, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, with various gigs across Ohio for the last 8 years, and plays ten shows a month, and has been fortunate enough to sell over 300 CDs last year.

With over 15 years of writing and performing experience to his credit combined with his marketability, He’s changing the way we present Hip Hop with songs that anyone can relate to. His talent and persona put him as one of Hip Hop’s next valuable commodities.

Stevie Wonder, Jay-z, Rakim, and Tupac
