Legal Fiction is just that. We are a four musicians, 3 guitarists and a bassist, all from different parts of the US, who have formed a virtual band in March of 2009.
We all play and contribute songs as the mood and time allows. The styles of the songs that are collected here will vary. We all have different influences, but we all love to play.
We hope you enjoy our eclectic little catalog.
Why this name?
Just as a corporation is a "legal fiction", in that there is no Mr. 3M, or Mrs. Betty Crocker, we as a band, exist in a virtual context. We, too, are a "legal fiction".
Do you play live?
We play here. We have evolved as players from the bar and club circuit to become a virtual band. We are spread out from the West Coast, to the Midwest and down into the South.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, we'd still be four guys sitting alone in a room without the Internet. This is a unique time to make music. The old indentured system is flailing to find its footing within it.
For us, it is ideal. We can write and record as the inspiration hits, then slide back into the real world.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If a record company offered us a contract I'm not sure any of us would know what to say...
