The Texas wind blows a lot of artist to nashville. Some with a ragged box of songs and an old guitar. After years of banging on doors and making a few friends the wind blows the other way and a dishearted Texas boy is back where he started. But in some cases the Texas boy just makes a lot of friends and enjoys his life in the great state of Texas. Beau Renfro will tell you quick, he's from Texas and that way of life shows up in his songs. He only makes it to Nashville to record or visit with friends now days.
Beau's records are played all over the world now, thanks to the worldwide web. You may want to google his name to see all the places he has been in the music business. Stardust records in Nashville is home to this countryboy and after three albums and sixteen releases Beau Renfro is still going strong.
In 1985 Beau formed a band in Tyler,Texas called Beau & the Bandits and became the house band for the Saw Mill Club. Backing all the stars who came out of Nashville to sing in the 2500 seat night club. Stars included Bobby Bare, Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, T.G. Shepard. David Houston, Charlie Rich, Mel Tillis and many more.
On one such night David Houston came in and offered beau a chance to sing on some of his shows. Beau jumped at the chance and for the next few months worked with David on the Louisanna Hayride and the biggest show of all, the Grand Ol' Opry.
Beau can be found with his band of many years, Clear Country, entertaining folks all over the country.
Why this name?
Clear Country just let's everyone know we play country music. It's not rock, not jazz, not anything but good Clear Country Music.
Do you play live?
Clear Country plays Casino's, Country Shows, and Clubs over the great Southwest.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Cool, we have our songs played over worldwide radio and we're thankful.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We are the back up band for Beau Renfro. He is signed with Stardust Records of Nashville.
Band History:
We work out of Tucson Arizona, Rick Skinner is on bass, Roger Skinner drums, John Lazaus plays Steel and Dave Johnson on Lead. We are a fun group, partly show and partly dance, but always on time.
Your influences?
I quess we are influenced by good Country pickers. I know Rick & Roger love Willie and Dave is all about Merle but I love Vern Gosden, Waylon Jennings, Marty Robbins, Mel Tillis and many more.
Favorite spot?
The Mavrick king of clubs on Wednesday Night for open mic.
