I chose the name I go by online (Von) as my musical name simply because it has a nice ring to it :)

The internet enables not only commercial artists, but novice or hobbyists to reach a much wider audience than ever before. Artists can build up fan bases in countries they've never visited, which is handy if travelling is an issue. It has caused many problems with copyright infringements, but the problem has only gotten out of hand because the whole thing hasn't been regulated properly since the beginning.

Not sure on that one, I am just a hobbyist music creator, and I think going mainstream might be very demanding, imposing 'targets' on how many tracks they want you to produce in a given amount of time and that could take the enjoyment out of being able to create something whenever you want.

Jean Michel Jarre, Tiesto, Blue Monday......but many others besides those as I like to experiment with different genres, and use various artists as inspiration.

Although I have lived in the same town (Swindon) for most of my life, I hate it and I still think of the place I was born (Eastbourne) as home
