The True J.R.C. is a producer from Siksika Nation and is a member of the True Nativez.
Why this name?
Well, I was asked what my m.c. name was and I didn't wanna use a name with a gimmick or anything like that. So I decided to stay true to who I am and use my initials.
Do you play live?
Well I have performed with other artists from my reserve on several occasions. I started performing at shows with other MC'S and got paid for my set as my name started getting up there. I also got to perform at The Blackfoot Confederacy Historical Park grand opening which was pretty cool because one of my friends got us the gig and got us paid about $150 to do 3 songs. And it was also cool that I was one of the first people to perform at the B.C.H.P.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is good for business. I could here other artists music and also let the world here my music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I started my own record label called Native Legacy Records
But I would sign to a major Record Label for $250 000 and up for short term
Band History:
I'm the main man of the crew making beats and making moves all day every day...
Your influences?
When I first heard Eazy-e I became a fan of his story telling lyrics. Also I like the old school stuff from 1995 and 1996 era, Which included Above The Law, and B.G. Knock out and Ganster Dresta. And I can't forget the Wu-Tang Clan they released good stuff in the mid 90's.
But now I'm making music for the Hustlers stackicng stacks.
I also like the old rock n roll like AC/DC, Guns and Roses, and other stuff like that. But I prefer to make hip-hop music because I dont have the time to learn how to play the guitar or other instruments. I play the keyboard but not at the level a pro but I use it to make beats. I will have some metal bands signed to my record label real soon. I like metal bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Godsmack, and other good stuff.
