If you have strayed in AGW's Woodshed from someplace other than acousticguitarworkshop.com, allow us to shed some light. The mp3's on this page are only half the story! They are the audio part of acoustic guitar lessons from the Acoustic Guitar Workshop. You need to get the pdf to read the tablature and the teacher's notes.
Apart from simple audio lessons, AGW's Woodshed also contains video lessons, using a split-screen technique which lets you see the fretting and picking hand simultaneously. For more information, visit AGW's Woodshed now. It's fingerpickin' good!
Why this name?
We like the image of shedding wood, you know that age old pastime of sitting on the porch picking away at an old (or new) acoustic guitar.
Do you play live?
We'd have a job doing it dead!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There's good and bad in it. Of course, now artists aren't at the mercy of the major labels who ripped them off badly in the past. That's good, but the bad thing is that a lot of people seem to expect to get their music for free these days. But you can't actually have an industry based on those lines.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the deal of course.
Band History:
The Acoustic Guitar Workshop produces acoustic guitar music and video instruction CDROM's. Our house speciality is roots acoustic and fingerstyle blues. So if you like the likes of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy and Ry Cooder, you'll probably like AGW (short for Acoustic Guitar Workshop). It's pretty darn fingerpickin' good for acoustic guitarists. Our most popular instruction product is 60Day Fingerstyle Blues Camp. Less is certainly more when it comes to fingerstyle blues. No brain-twisting theory and techniques to master. Just a few basic chords, couple of open tunings and a handful of simple picks to learn. So why such a mystery for so many players? Because effective fingerstyle blues instruction is real scarce -- our inspiration to produce theĀ 60-Day Fingerstyle Blues Camp CD Video Course. Click here for full details...
