Well, we are a group of people sold out for the things of God to help usher God's people into a heart of worship. To each one of us, He's given a measure of talent through the gift of music. Our desire is to see God lifted up through the songs he places in our hearts. Our hope is that these songs bleed out a passion for God's name.
Why this name?
It seemed fitting with the way God has shown great mercy to me throughout my life, that there was a river of mercy constantly flowing for me when I least deserved it. It continues to this day, thus, "River Mercy".
Do you play live?
We lead worship services for a Calvary Chapel in Lancaster,CA., located in the Antelope Valley. There is something so incredible about having God's people fully consumed by His presence lifting up the name of God.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It brings opportunity to ones fingertips who might not of had opportunity otherwise.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it was in God's will.
Band History:
The core of this team I would have to say would have to be our lead guitar play, Steve Kim, and my son, Mario, who is the bass player. These guys keep it together and are "go to" guys. Steve is our most experienced musician and does all of the recording from his home studio. He also writes a lot of the music. Steve and I have teamed up to produce a an upcoming cd with new songs written by both he and I and should be completed sometime this year ('09).
Your influences?
My biggest influence, MATT REDMAN! Gotta love that guy. Music and lyrics are so spot on. Then Charlie Hall, David Crowder, and Chris Tomlin. Oh, can't forget Dizmas (my son just joined the band..bass player!).
Favorite spot?
Santa Barbara, CA.
