My name is Skool Boy, I'm a 19 year old Rapper/Producer from Bessemer, AL. I've been rapping for nine years producing for four. I love music its all I have, its all I do. I'm always ready to work, and I'm always up to work with new artists so if money is what you are trying to get, lets get it together.
Why this name?
At school I did this freestyle battle, and I was just ripping up everybody, and this girl was like she liked my style. She also told me with my bookbag on, I look Like a little skool boy, so i just ran with it.
Do you play live?
Yes, I do. I will perform anywhere they will have me it doesn't matter. Like it, maaaan I love it everything about it, especially the rush. My favorite moment is when I look out into the crowd, and they know my songs. That's the best part of performing to me.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It really doesn't change the industry, it just makes it more convinient, with the record A&R's bust schedules and all. I really dont have a problem with it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, without a doubt. That's actually what I am trying to do. That's my life long dream.
Band History:
There really is no history. The only thing I can think of is I have changed my name about four times but my fans still love me.
Your influences?
My musical influences are Kanye West, Jay-Z, Fabolous, Common, Pharrell, and Lil Wayne they always surprise me and keep me inspired to stay fresh with my own material and for that I thank them.
Favorite spot?
My Favorite cities are Atlanta and Birmingham.
Equipment used:
I use Fruity loops and a midi keyboard, and I record on Sonar, nothing big.
