A breath of fresh air for Hip Hop Founding a record label and entertainment group to help artists who are trying to break in to the music industry really is that simple, according to Phat Traxx Entertainment CEO Dee McNeil. ?Music speaks to me,? he says, as if his life?s purpose has been carved in stone by some ancient prophecy. Music has spoken to Dee his entire life, beginning when he was barely in grade school. His music artist brother, Simon (now known as Lil Mac) took seven year old Dee into the recording studio. At 13, Dee recorded his first rap song on a portable cassette recorder after impromptu rap sessions at the cafeteria lunch table. As he entered young adulthood, Dee became a devoted fan of the stories told through music.

?I think music is a way to express thoughts that are too complicated to describe in a normal conversation. Music is my escape from the world,? he says. In addition to being the founder and CEO of Phat Traxx Entertainment, Dee is also a rising Hip Hop star. Calling himself Tha Hollywood Kid, Dee is a student at the Audio Master Class School for Production and has invested in top quality studio equipment for the label?s recording studio.

Phat Traxx is also providing funding for Hip Hop mix tapes and rap competitions. Current Phat Traxx Entertainment artists include Face, 24-7, Real Money, Young Thousandaire, Tha Hollywood Kid, J R Lansky, Ladi T, Lil Rick, and Tech. The first official Phat Traxx mix tape P.H.A.T. Volume 1 (Pushin? Hot Azz Traxx) is set for release on July 15th of 2009. Dee and Phat Traxx Entertainment have a host of planned releases and events in the works for the next two years. The company also focuses ..ing people in all artistic environments including models, dancers and other performers. Other company services include custom beats, mixing and mastering, and graphic design services. As the CEO of Phat Traxx Entertainment and a Hip Hop artist himself, Dee believes there are too many producers and artists more worried about making hit songs instead of ?really representing Hip Hop for what it is.?
