The solo project of Pete Dannenfelser, Sarcastic Jim is a collection of tunes recorded in his basement studio (The ManCave). Pete plays all the instruments from bass (his primary instrument) to guitars to drums to keys. The Sarcastic Jim songs that aren't instrumental (Number Eight and Highly Average Man) feature former Free Bozo band mate, Sig Mueller on vocals.
Why this name?
I went to bandnamemaker.com and hit "generate name" a handful of times until Sarcastic Jim struck me.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
In a heartbeat.
Your influences?
I like to think my main influences are RUSH, Yes, Genesis, Tool and the like, but in reality, I think my songs end up sounding a bit more like Collective Soul and other '90s alt bands.
Equipment used:
My main bass is a '93 Fender American Standard Jazz. The main guitars I use on my recordings are a Gibson Les Paul 1960 reissue and a 60th Anniversary American Strat. I record on a Mac with a Logic set up.
