Peter Robot is the Codename for Dr. Peter Roboticus the Second, who has been writing electronic music for approximately 12 years. He is hellbent on destroying standards, or using them in a way that makes you want to puke rainbows. Two major drives exist in motivating his music: one is for the dance floor, where he would like thick and crunchy bass lines to cause people to gyrate about. The other drive is more intellectual, he would like to create sounds that enter the third dimension and create beauty and substance while abandoning the two dimensional space music has tended to exist in before.
Why this name?
Peter Rabbit + Evil Robot = Peter Robot
Do you play live?
Yes, I play live shows. And yes, I do like it. One special moment was playing a really heavy dance show sitting where the floor was dropping, then when I stood up I got funny looks because I was on crutches and no one expected it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It democratizes it
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not inclined to, I would rather make it happen with a minor one.
