Band History:
The Emergence of “Two Thumbz Up Productions”

Producers & Artist

“Two Thumbz Up Productions we the best, I put it on my chest so you know that we next”; this quote came from the hit song entitled “Shirts Off” (A lot of Tats); this very line predicts the surfacing and or emergence of the duo on the hip-hop scene. Daniel “Danny Fantom” Jacobs and Anthony “DoughBoy da Chef” Chapman; also known together as, “The Super Smash Brothers” of Two Thumbz Up Productions, Incorporated are very vibrant, versatile and are on top of the ever changing hip-hip world. Upon meeting for the first time the two clicked and instantly smelled “sweet success”. A unique and attention-grabbing quality that aided in the two forming a group together is the fact that Daniel Jacobs is left handed and Anthony Chapman is right handed, (each member makes one of the thumbs in Two Thumbz Up Productions), “isn’t it ironic”.

Daniel Wesley Jacobs, III is a man of many identities. He is known across the southeast as Danny Fantom, Mac Genius, Dan da Grillman, DJ and Trey. Regardless of what you call him, you must respect his hustle and ambition.

From a very young age, Daniel Jacobs was involved in several different aspects of the arts and music. He set his sights on creating music at age fourteen when he purchased “Fruity Loops” from a friend. With no musical training he began to purse his dream to make head-banging beats. These head-banging beats had soulful bass lines, powerful pads, choir and hard hitting drums.

In high school, Daniel Jacobs joined up with a few of his friends from B.E. Mays High School in Atlanta, Georgia and together they formed “Thumbz Up! Entertainment”. Powered by Daniel’s beats “Thumbz Up!” made songs and music videos for many school functions; such as, talent shows, homecoming events and etc.

Daniel Jacobs is now an alumnus of the Great Bethune-Cookman University; where he obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing. While at Bethune-Cookman University Daniel set out to establish a musical organization called the League of Extraordinary Musicians (LXM).

“Music has always been a major part of my life”, says Anthony Leon Mouzon Chapman, II. At a very young age this determined individual knew that some day he would make music into a career. Anthony strives to be on top of the music world because he believes what his parents taught him “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.

Anthony grew up in the church setting because he is the son of Pastor Anthony and Shairon Chapman, Sr. Growing up in the church gave him the opportunity to put his hands on live sounds and his love for music grew even stronger and manifested into a passion. He would always try to get his hands on something that could produce noise because the sounds kept him in the groove and in tune with the world.

By age ten, Anthony had already learned how to play the drums, but do not think for a moment that someone taught him because this extraordinary child taught himself and played at his father’s church each and every Sunday. In the summer of 1998, he had placed his talented hands on his first production tool “Fruity Loops 4”. He recalls, staying up for hours until he could get the hang of his new program and after that he made beats daily. In the same summer, Anthony and some of his friends form the “Ol Projects” in Fort Myers, Florida were inspired to form a group called “Tha Good Fellaz”. Also the emergence of “Records Out da Kitchen” came about in this same summer.

“Records Out da Kitchen”, was Anthony’s Record/Production Company. The company received this ironic name because the very first recording studio was in Edward “Eddie P” Purnell’s mother’s kitchen pantry; so literally the records were produced and made straight out the kitchen. In 2004, “Records Out da Kitchen” had improved and managed to put together their first mix-tape titled “3 da Hardway” produced eighty-five percent by Anthony.
In the spring of 2005, Anthony graduated from Dunbar High School in Fort Myers, Florida. Being a high school graduate took him to a new level so he decided to do the same with his production equipment by purchasing “Oxegen 8 midi Keyboard” with “Reasons 3.0”.
In the summer of 2005, Anthony enrolled himself into college at the Great Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida and this is where the production team of “Two Thumbz Up Productions” emerged.

Daniel Jacobs from Atlanta, Georgia and Anthony Chapman met at the Great Bethune Cookman University. Both guys brought something to the table at their first official meeting; one had beats and many production tools and the other had a business centered mind so the idea to take over the music world was conceived and since then that has been their goal. Currently, the duo has been producing numerous songs for many local artists in the Daytona Beach/Orlando/Fort Myers, Florida area and the West Atlanta, Georgia area.
