Not really a band, but a solo act just starting up, trying to get the promotions runnin and all that. Still in the process of creating the beats for most of my vocals.
Why this name?
Fynal Cypher, meaning the last truly passionate hip hop artist, freestyler, etc. etc.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Internet, that's easy. Everybody used the internet, whether at home or at work. Most of the music I like, I order off the internet, most of the promotions I see for up and coming rappers, I see on the internet. The internet clearly seems to be the easiest and least costly way to promote yourself, or even the fastest way to find labels and promoters.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would, but I wouldn't not sell my soul to do it. I rap like who I am, which is not a gangsta, pimp etc. etc, although, those are easy enough subjects to rap about.
Your influences?
My biggest influence is the illest emcee that ever came into contact with the rap game, Canibus. He's the ultimate and what I aspire to surpass. There are others, The Roots, with their ill lyricism and urban style, and their utterly original music. Pharaoh Monche, Mos Def, most definitely, Common Sense, Royce da 5'9", Wyclef, and, believe it or not, Bruce Lee, who was the epitome of excellence, finesse, the ultimate martial artist.
Favorite spot?
Hawaii.
