Things Will Never Be the Same
Brother Phoenix is an all original indie rock band from Cleveland, OH with a blues funk undertone.
Why this name?
The Brother Phoenix was born out of the ashes of a previous outfit.
Do you play live?
Brother Phoenix currently plays 4-5 shows a month at Cleveland concert clubs. With plans for our spring tour to include colleges and festivals throught ohio and surraounding states following the release of our first CD. One of Phoenix's best moments was to be ables to take the stage at the 2001 Woodstock reunion.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Kudos to Mp3's. There is now yet another avenue for bands to get heard. We at Brother Phoenix fully support original music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.

THE STORY OF THE BAND
Brother Phoenix was born out of the ashes of a former band when members decided to shed some dead skin and recreate a new band. This new band was going to play and create music for the joy and self-satisfaction of the art. They wanted to have fun again and be free…Brother Phoenix rises.
With a load of experience and talent throughout the members, the band created new songs that reflected their choices and ideas. Soon, the set list was full of fresh material and the old songs were filed away. After playing nine shows their first month out, Brother Phoenix grew into a solid performing group…Brother Phoenix takes flight.
2002 finds the band in high spirits, recording material for their full length CD, and planning a Midwest tour. Energized by the crowd and their love of music, Brother Phoenix strives for the best and offers it to the people…Brother Phoenix soars.
Where are you from?
Brother Phoenix is based out of sunny Cleveland, Ohio. Our members originally hail from such places as West Virginia, Alaska, and Norway.
What type of music do you play?
Original rock with a funk / blues influence; It is hard to classify music today, but we are not “heavy metal” and not even close to “soft rock”.
Do you play outside of Cleveland?
Yes, last summer the members were invited to play the 2001 Woodstock Revival
(aka SpiritStock) outside Bethel, NY and hope to return this year. We are also booking a regional tour for this summer.
Do you play with other groups?
We have formed many warm relationships with local bands and club owners and hope to make more. Playing with other bands is always a memorable experience for us.
Are you a bunch of pretentious musicians?
Nope. Once you meet the band you will realize that we are just fun people that love music. Sure, we take music seriously and it’s an intricate part of our lives, but we’re here to enjoy ourselves too.

Your influences?
Brother Phoenix is a basic three peice sound(guitar, bass and drums) with a female lead vocal.
Their music is very rhythmic with driving guitar and bass lines. The drums are more than basic and use a lot of fill work to fill up the sound. Their influences range from classic rock to hard rock to funk and blues, so their is something for everyone to enjoy.
