Truda Lyfe and Phenomenon make up the hip hop group Forsaken. Growing up and currently residing in Southern Maryland they bring a new flavor to the game with a perfect blend of southern rap, subliminal poetry and old school hip hop rarely heard in today’s cookie cutter market.
With a strong focus on creativeness and lyrical bliss Forsaken has developed a knack for making underground hit after underground hit. Their unique mix of beats and lyrics has people turning their heads asking, “Who is that…and where can I hear more?”
Truda Lyfe and Phenomenon have blazed their own paths to be MCs and the music benefits from those experiences. Along with the live shows, cd selling and pure unadulterated hustle, Forsaken strongly believes in doing their own recording, mixing and mastering. They understand with the flows should come the touch of their own hands on the faders helping make a perfect match for their ideal song. Many of those in the business have taken notice of not only their recording skills but also being well educated in the industry as a whole; thus creating a total package…writing, recording and marketing.
With their big break being just a matter of time, Forsaken continues to destroy the underground scene. The release of their mix tape “Verbal Artillery” helped serve notice that they had arrived and arrived with a passion. With the help of “Da Business Productions” for their online distribution and promotion as well as their street team efforts, Forsaken continues to keep their name out there and in everybody’s face. They exemplify hustle and flow and the east coast will ride their back straight up the charts.
Currently, Forsaken, is working on their debut album, “Hottest On The Block”, which will be available online and on the streets by mid June. “Hottest On The Block” focuses on the lacking presence of lyrical skill and talent on the hip hop scene today. With a mix of club bangers and real life storytelling this album also rocks a feature from Bizarre of D12 on the single “How We Roll.” This album is sure to register high on the Richter scale when it drops this summer. It’ll make China’s earthquake feel like a tremor.
