Formed in Rocktober of 2008 in a chance meeting in Auburn, Alabama, BrokenRail discovered its unique blend of heavier rock mixed with that of the likes of the newer style of pop. Coming together as a band mixed with that of different venues and backgrounds with all original inspired music from that of their own lives. BrokenRail is currently working in the studio as well as writing for their untitled debut album. They are also currently booking shows for the upcoming months as well as piecing together a summer tour.
Why this name?
The lead singer's and lead guitarist's first songs they ever learned on guitar both had to do with trains ironically. The name was confirmed by the two while on the way to eat. After finishing their meals and leaving the establishment, they realized they had just ate their first meal as BrokenRail at Choo Choo Express. Coincidence?
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It puts the artist and the listener together easier and lets a lot of music be heard that otherwise would have never made it anywhere. It kills the money that used to be in music though from an artists standpoint.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. Money is everything in this business as well as good contacts. They provide both which cuts out a lot of the hassle.
