'Tin Man Friends' is the Debut release from New Zealand artist JPC. It has been described as a 'rock feast', and was given the honor of national radio play thanks to Kiwi FM's 'IAN' show. It is available from 'Real Groovy' in Auckland City, and also on iTunes.
While the term 'one man band' lends images to the mind of jesters on the street, brandishing large bass drums attached to their torso while smashing cymbals tied to their knees together in a shameless attempt to earn change from passers by, JPC isn't that - because he doesn't have the time, or the necessary equipment.
A new addition to the current trend of DIY musicians, JPC's sound falls somewhere between Filter and Incubus on the rock spectrum and has been constructed with a Dave Grohl-esque work ethic. The result is a hard hitting, concise, five track debut EP by the name of 'Tin Man Friends' - don't be confused by the title, because you aren't 'off to see the wizard'; although your house might get blown away... in a tornado of rock.
The first single is 'Exit Strategy', A song about getting away from a destructive situation, before it's too late.
To celebrate the release, JPC will be offering a free download of the ep for the week following the release date, which can be found via his myspace, http://www.myspace.com/jpcnz
Release date 18/08/2010 available for online purchase from iTunes, Soundclick and Amplifier and hard copies available from Real Groovy the city.
