I'm pretty much a one man band these days. Have played in numerous Indie groups in the past and have come close to getting signed, but alas it wasnt to be. Currently I am pushing forward with my own songwriting and music production.
Why this name?
The name comes from a Kids programme that was on TV when I was a nipper.
Do you play live?
Have done in the past, always got nervous but loved the buzz you get when you've played well.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives us all the chance to produce and share our musical ideas with others. I'm particulary interested in collaborating with other musicians online.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Lol
Band History:
I spent most of my younger days playing bass with a talented songwriter called Jock Charmichael (his myspace site is well worth checking out). One of our bands called Pillgrim attracted the attention of an American Indie label and appeared on a promo CD, I think you can still find copies for sale on Amazon. Another band called Manna Machine worked really hard in the studio and produced some great songs, even had some famous names help out and appear on their tracks.
Your influences?
I have a very wide range of influences. My favourate bass player is Geddy Lee from Rush. Always been a sucker for heavy rock guitar especially lead playing. Having said that I would probably pick Andy Summers as one of my favourate guitarists.
Favorite spot?
I need to get out more..lol
Equipment used:
Hope to update my equipment soon. At present I record all my tracks on a digital recorder, then upload them as WAV files to my desktop. I then use Audacity, a fantastic piece of software which is free to download off the net, to mix everything up. I use a Fender strat and Fender Lyte bass, for drums I tend to rely on the digi recorders presets. I need to brush up on my drum programing but its such a pain.
