Why this name?
I choose 'Autumn Wind' as the name of the project because I love lying down beneath the trees in autumn and watching the colored leaves blow away.
Do you play live?
We do not play live right now. To be honest I do not know if we will any time soon. I dont have the means to do so (both people, resources, and equipment).
Band History:
Autumn Wind started out just making instrumental guitar soundscapes. Early on a friend (Vaclav) helped me out on a track. Then I bought a drum machine and added that and vocals to the mix. My first vocalist was Kristy Davidson. Due to personal issues I have (and no fault of hers)that did not work out. Through Kristy I met Amy Barklow. She has worked with me on vocals ever since, when I use female vocals that is. I mostly just sing my own songs now. I've kinda went away from the guitarscape sound a little bit. Taking in a more broad array of sounds.
Your influences?
I love reverb and delay. Im not an overly huge fan of distortion. I like hypnotic sounds a lot. Some bands I like that influence me: Peter Gabriel, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Afro Celt Soundsystem, recently Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man, Slowdive, my Bloody Valentine, Mum, also lots of lacal bands and side projects.
Equipment used:
Zoom Rhythm Trak 123, Fernandez Electric Guitar, various ghetto accoustic guitars, yamaha sy-35, cakewalk pro audio 9, soundforge, fruity loops, toy keyboards, recorders, native american flute, ocarina, fender amp, shure microphones, doumbek, loops, and anything else I can get my hands on.
