Nongoma was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1989 to musician parents. She grew up in Zimbabwe and Switzerland and did High School in South Africa. A gifted musician in her own right started composing at a tender age of four back in Gweru, Zimbabwe. She has a high calibre in voice command, harmony being her forte. With her two younger sisters: Thembi and Nandi, she started a girl-band in the suburb of Wollishofen in Zurich, Switzerland together with their childhood friends. One could see that she was set for bigger things. Her ability to lead this young band at the age of 12, writing all the music, arranging the harmonies and literally training the band members from scratch, Nongoma set high standards for this young band from the beginning. At eleven she sang lead on a Warner Music hip-hop production. At 14, she sang lead with Gospel Singers Wollishofen, one of the most renowned Gospel choirs in Switzerland. In March, 2008 she joined them again and appeared on the Swiss Gospel Contest '08 singing a song she co-wrote. The judges included people like Bo Katzmann and Carmen Fenk, some of the respected gospel artistes in Switzerland. She again came to Switzerland for concert with the gospel Singers Wollishofen where she performed with Börni, a new Swiss star, doing a breath-taking rendition of Mary Mary's "Shackles". In 2007 she completed High School from the National School of the Arts (NSA), in Johannesburg, South Africa.
