My name is Jessica Rice. My stage name is Boo Boo (it’s been my nickname since I was a baby). I’m only 15 years old and have already made my mind up that I’m going to be a professional singer. I haven’t got far, but I’m further than I ever thought I would even be close to getting to.
My first album “Just the Beginning” is exactly what it says. It’s the beginning of my music career. It only has 5 songs, but I got to start somewhere. I’m definitely a hip hop/rap kind of girl, so that’s all I sing. I only rap in one of my songs, “Daddy” though.
Each has its own meaning behind it. “Daddy” is about my dad who was nothing to me throughout my childhood. He left and never really told me why and in the song, I ask him why he was never around. “I’m Sorry” is a song dedicated to my mom. I have put her through so much, and she has done nothing but help me and be there for me through everything. So, I wrote it to try and show her that I really am sorry for everything I put her through. “I’ll Be There For You” was written when I realized I was with my first love. We’re young and in love and this song just expresses how I truly feel about him. “Can’t Help But Wait [remix]” was originally sang by Trey Songs. I felt like it was a song I could rewrite and flip the meaning of the song. I don’t want to give it away so you’ll have to listen to it. “Done” was written after I had a couple bad break ups, and it’s for all the girls who have been done wrong and want to turn the tables on the guys. Ladies are going to be the players now.
