Band History:
Ben Sures is a guitar slinging, singer/songwriter if you like great lyrics, stories and songs about everything from Rayguns to tropical fish to cooking to heartbreak.
Truly one of Canada's best-loved singer/songwriters, Ben is the 2005 winner of the John Lennon songwriting contest in the folk category (out of 15 000 entrants) . He has performed at many of Canada's folk festivals and has been featured on CBC Radio (Canada's public broadcaster) on many occasions
Raised on a diet of Woody Guthrie and steeped in the history of great guitar-playing styles from North America to Africa to France (acoustic and electric) Ben's music is embedded with a deep sense of the story telling tradition. Add in the golden years of The Winnipeg Folk Festival where Ben learned how to entertain an audience from the likes of James Keeelaghan and Taj Mahal and ,nerdy 20 somethings, baby boomers and old folkies love! He speaks with them in mind.
Ben has four cds available through Spirit River Distribution. Worked as a commissioned songwriter for Canada's national broadcaster CBC radio in Winnipeg , Vancouver and Edmonton.
