I'm Phil Bennett. I am Missouri born and raised. Moved to Nashville in 2002 to follow the dream of being a successful songwriter.
Why this name?
It's my name...and I kinda like it. :)
Do you play live?
I play songwriter nights in and around Nashville. It is a great venue for trying out new music and getting feedback.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Love it!!! I think radio as we have known it is almost a thing of the past. Talk radio and stuff like that will always be around, but today's format has to change to keep upp with the times.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I will cross that bridge when I get to it. But I would sign a short-term publishing contract. Other than that, I just need a few killer vocalists to sing my music and I can take it from there. Basically, I can be my own record label.

Your influences?
I love acoustic guitar sounds. I grew up on James Taylor, Bread, John denver and barry Manilow. These were all amazing songwriters and to me...its more about the song than it is the artist.
Favorite spot?
Nashville...steps of the Ryman Auditorium
