Native Quest come straight from the The River City that is Wanganui. Their original feel for hip hop mixed in with soulful ballads and foot stomping club bangers makes a sound that can only be best described as truly Native
Why this name?
It encompasses what we are Native (NZ Maori - Tangata Whenua - people from the land) and Quest (the journey or quest we are undertaking to bring our music to all those around us)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has opened a massive doorway for all those artists that may have never been discovered or taken the opportunity to try the music due to a lack of resources. But now with ability to link up with artists and record companies all over the world it's now possible for anyone with the dream and desire to at least try their hand and see what may happen.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
For sure - we are currently a self published group but if signed to a major company we would always ensure to stay humble and keep it real just like we always have and maintain that loyalty to our fans providing the same type of feel good music as without fans you can't get anywhere
