Why this name?
most of the better names are already taken.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We have come to a stage where it's impossible to think of music as a body that is different from its use through the net. It's probably the biggest revolution that has come in music , similar to the advent of 'talkies', or the coming of the music video. The only difference from previous revolutions is, this time, everyone's really invited. And without ill feelings, online collaboration really works. If it gets us listening, it's worth it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends. Mostly on the (positive) difference between a personal journey and intention with music, and a more objective intention.
Band History:
My Silence is a post rock/ambient minimalist/prog rock outfit formed by Soumya Sen in Delhi, India in 2007. The band is around two years in the making - ideas and collaborative efforts flowed until music could be conceived.

Currently in a very premature stage, the songs presented here are mostly demos to be worked out by a live band when musical ideas will be fleshed out completely.

Your influences?
My Silence’s influences mostly include the 70s, 80s and 90s prog rock schools - Camel, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Porcupine Tree, IQ and late nineties and 21st century post rock and ambient post metal/ industrial - Mogwai, God is an astronaut, Jesu, Godflesh, Explosions in the sky, Isis, Red Sparowes, Made Out of Babies. Some other esoteric influences include math rock pioneers Slint, the Melvins, krautrock bands like Ash Ra Tempel.

Anything else...?
The universe is vastly over-rated. It doesn't give a good living. We should start saying no.
