We are "High." Although it may seem like a simple reference to drugs it is more than that. We are striving for the highest goal we can acheive as musicians.
Why this name?
Well alot of it has to do with the fact that most of the greatest songs ever written, were done so stoned. But also it seemed to catch on with people. Easy to remember and it's not been taken as far as we know yet.
Do you play live?
I belive each of the band mates have played live at one point or another. But we have not all played live at the same time yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well personally I think the internet has opened doors to a more free music industry. As well as giving many more people the oppurtunity to present themselves.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most Likely
Band History:
Starting Late November 2008, the first two members Jason Cozak and Stephen Zimnoch both work for the same company on weekends and got two guitars played together for the first time. They decided it would be a cool idea to get a band together. On that same day they decided that Stephen should play the bass. So together after work they went to the quakertown farmers market and picked out a good looking bass. Afterwards they headed back to Jasons home and started playing around again, this time on electrical instruments. Not working under any name or worry about a specific genre to play the two decided to pick out covers they would work on get well at in order to start playing at bars and open mics, and that over time they would eventually write original matterial. The two weeks later Jason brought all the equipment over to Stephen's house, and practice was officially held there, every tuesday at 7 P.M.. The next week Jason had found a Second Guitarist Named Ryan, who came to practice and was pretty much instantly liked by Stephen. And then less than a week later, Stephen was walking home from work and heard someone practicing drums from one of the town houses. He stood there for a couple minutes enjoying the rhythm coming from the window knocked on the door. And about 15 minutes later they unofficially had a drummer. Then afterwords after an unsussesfull run with that line up, there were some changes with the guitarist. The next incarnation of "High" was with Bassist Steve, Rhythm Jason, Drums Cj who was the guy that steve had heard on his way home that one day, And lead Blake who was a friend of Cj's. That lasted for somewhere around 2 or 3 practices and a couple weeks later the band had disbanded. At that point Jason and Steve had kept in touch and continued to work together. Steve also went on to finish his solo album, "Inspiration." which was finished being recorded in late August of 2009. At this point Steve intended to get a band together in order to rerecord his original material. He had asked his friends and a former band mates Tom Faix, Greg Galliger, Jason, Tim and Dave D. to rerecord the parts. But Tom had to decline due to school, and Greg had to decline for school and various other reasons. Tom however refered his band mate Jake "Dizzel" for drums. And all the others said yes. But some time in following weeks, Steve had decided to instead of rerecording his original material, to reincarnate the band "High"
