Why this name?
I had heard the phrase "transcending reality" before and had no idea what it meant. Looked up the word transcendent when I was sitting in computer class and loved it immediately.
Do you play live?
Yes. I've only performed once, but it came pretty easily to me. I'd love to do it again, but I probably won't be able to get many gigs until I expand my music catalogue.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it available to more people and spreads it faster, which I love. I think in time it will weed out all of the one hit wonders and such that have over saturated the mainstream lately because it will make it so revenue mainly comes from performances.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If I had complete creative control and no restrictions on what I could say, yes. Most likely I would never get this, so I will stay underground.
Your influences?
Immortal Technique is and always will be my biggest influence. He's the one who introduced me to underground hip hop and he's the reason I started rapping. But other than him, plenty of dope emcees have shaped me and my craft: Aesop Rock, Slug, Canibus, Shad, Apathy, Celph Titled, Eminem, Rakim, Big L, Jay-Z, Buck 65, Cage, Chino XL, Diabolic, all of the Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, One Be Lo, and the list goes on and on. I draw a lot of musical influence from other genres as well. Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, and Jim Morrison have shaped my song writing and thought process, mainly for when I write choruses.
Favorite spot?
Hollywood, CA. Hands down.
Equipment used:
At the moment, a Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Mic and a recording program called Reaper.
Anything else...?
If my music makes you think, question, or influences you in any way, I've done my job.
