90 Day Jane is guitar wizard Steve Smith's newest band. A formidable witches brew of sonic hell with some of the industry's top names in the world of heavy rock.
Why this name?
90 Day Jane...named for the gal Jane who was supposed to off herself on Youtube...although she never did..but the name stuck in my head for some reason and it rolled nicely off the tongue.
Do you play live?
We are just getting rolling on the live shows for 2009.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yeah....it helps level the playing field somewhat with the Heavies.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends.....money always talks.
Your influences?
I have been influenced heavily by guitarists such as George Lynch, Randy Rhoads, John Sykes and Jerry Cantrell. Bob Daisley has influenced my song writing and melodic approach as far as mood and ambiance. A good face melting guitar solo goes a long way and should be one that can be recalled from memory and instantly recognizable.
Favorite spot?
San Diego
Equipment used:
ESP, Ibanez, Ovation, Raratonga and Gibson guitars. Marshall amps are my choice for playing live and in the studio.
