Mode Of Being has been many things over the years. It has been one person, it has been 3. It has developed from odd roots, and along the way, it has met incredible people and circumstances. It is involved with all form of art or expression. It is for you. Please, enjoy your Mode Of Being. If you do, we are honored. If you do not, tell us, and we will endeavor to improve.
We come and go in phases. We are one thing one time, another the next. We hope you enjoy diversity.
Why this name?
It best describes the style of music. I write what hits me at the time, be it Jazz, blues, classical, Industrial Metal, or down-south rap. It came to me as I was thinking of a new band name (my previous one had been disbanded some time before)...I thought, "It needs to be more personal this time, less of a shocker. What is my mode of being?" Hit my head, recognized it as something of a cliche (which meant people would probably remember it better), and said, "Duh." lol I pitched it to about 10 people, all with positive results. Thereby: tada.
Do you play live?
Yes. Hogans Pub regularly, and wherever I can get a gig. I love playing live. It's awesome to get an entire club up at the same time to dance, or to make people dance in the rain. Phenomenal irreplaceable memories, and new ones each concert.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easier to access...be it good or bad. I haven't noticed anyone taking a bad turn for it, though. The point of music is for others to hear it. I think it helps that end very nicely.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure. I'm open to almost anything. You don't learn anything unless you do it. And I'm easier to get along with than a lot of artists I've met. So, I'm not sure if the horror stories would apply to me. I'd certainly like to play infront of thousands, though, instead of hundreds. Wouldn't that be great?
Band History:
Constantly moving foward. Constantly learning.
Your influences?
So many...so so many...give me music, and it inspires. Images inspire. Concepts. Art is art. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and often does.
Favorite spot?
Again, many. Manhattan, Atlanta, Clarkston, the Chatooga river...many.
Equipment used:
Mostly my computer. Logic Pro 7, an M-Audio es88. Vocals: Rode NT2-A / Audiotechnica Dynamic mic...depending on the feel or sound I want.
Anything else...?
Thank you for visiting. Please comment. I endeavor to explore emotion, but I also have an unhealthy desire to please people. I learn more by more feedback. Please help me grow. I'll try to make you better music as I do. :)
